GRID for Google Slides™ - Privacy Policy

This policy aims to explain what connecting the GRID for Google Slides™ workspace extension to your Google account will mean for you and your data.

For general details about our handling of your personal data, or data created within or imported into GRID, refer to the main GRID privacy policy. This document aims to explain what connecting the GRID for Google Slides™ workspace extension to your Google account will mean for you and your data.

GRID for Google Slides™'s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Additional Access

The GRID for Google Slides™ extension requires three access scopes to your account, two of which are considered sensitive, and one which Google considers non-sensitive. We will expand on the purpose of these scopes, within the context of our extension:

This scope gives GRID access to the Google Slides™ presentation you currently have open. Without this scope we would not be able to insert snapshots from GRID into the presentation, nor find and update existing snapshots. The methods used to access and work with your presentation are the following: Page.insertImage, Presentation.getSlides , Slide.getImages and image.Replace. Additionally this scope allows us to use the PropertiesService to store information about which images in your presentation originate from GRID, and persist your GRID session so you do not need to log into GRID every time you open the extension.

This scope is used to display the sidebar where the GRID add-on is rendered, and to add the menu items to open the GRID extension sidebar.

This scope is required for the GRID html sidebar to communicate with the App Script backend methods via google.script.run.
