Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains which data we collect, how we use it and which rights you have in relation to our processing of your personal data.

About this Privacy Policy

At GRID, we care about your privacy and the protection of your personal data. However, we do need to process some data connected to you in order to deliver our service and continuously improve our product. This privacy policy explains which data we collect, how we use it and which rights you have in relation to our processing of your personal data.

This privacy policy applies to grid.is and GRID as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution in connection to which GRID is the data controller. GRID is, however, not a data controller for any personal information relating to other individuals that might be included in the files uploaded to our servers. In this case, you or your company are the data controller and GRID is considered the data processor. If you decide to publish any personal data, you are responsible for ensuring that the publication of such data is in accordance with applicable legislation.

Which personal data do we need?

To be able to use GRID, you must supply us with your email address and then select a username. We will also ask you to optionally provide your full name and to insert a short bio. We like to stay in touch with our users by sending out newsletters and surveys via email. When you use our product, we will also receive your IP address as well as some system-related and diagnostic data which tells us how you use our product and how our system is performing.

If you are an employee of any of our suppliers or other companies we may have been in contact or has contacted us we may process the personal data necessary for such communications such as name, email address, job title or phone number.

We may also process personal data relating to employees of our suppliers or other companies who we have been in contact with or has contacted us.

We process personal data of job applicants.

Why do we collect your information?

We collect your email address to enable you to login to our system and keep track of you in our Customer Relations Management (CRM) system. You, however, fully control how much you share with us. We collect system data to analyze the use of our system, scale performance to deliver enough computing power for all users, as well as to further develop GRID.

We may also process personal data relating to employees of our suppliers or other companies who we have been in contact with or has contacted us. If you have applied for a job at GRID we process the information you provided with your application.

We also process data for information security purposes in order to be able to ensure that our product functions properly and to minimize the possibility of any information security related incidents that might affect us or you as a user.

How long will we keep your personal data?

We will keep your personal data for as long as you are a registered user of GRID. If you decide to delete your account, we will delete your data (including all backups) within 6 weeks.‍

What is our legal basis for processing your data?

We need some of your personal data in order for you to be able to use GRID.

If you have chosen to contact us we will process your personal data in order to be able to respond to you. We will send you emails with information about and surveys related to our product based on our interests as a business. You can, however, always opt-out from receiving such emails.

It is also important for us to be able to analyze the use of our product based on system usage data and other diagnostic data so that we can further develop GRID and ensure best performance.

If you have given your consent, we process further data relating to your use of our product for the purpose of improvement and further development. You can at any given time withdraw your consent. If you do so we will not process your data further, but this does not affect the legitimacy of processing of your personal data prior to you withdrawing your consent.

Disclosure

We will only disclose your personal data if we are required to do so by law or court order. In all other cases, your personal data will not be shared with anyone.

Transfer of data outside the EU/EEA

We use third party providers to be able to deliver our services. Some of those are located outside the EU/EEA. In such instances, the transfer of personal data is subject to appropriate safeguards such as standard data protection clauses adopted by the EU Commission.

Security

We handle your personal data in a secure way to ensure it is not lost, inappropriately accessed, misused, disclosed, altered or destroyed. Access to your data is provided to members of our team who need it in order to be able to perform their jobs (i.e. the product marketing department have access to your email and personal information, while product developers have access to usage information).

Your rights

You may have the right to access, correct, amend or delete your personal information stored with GRID as well as the right to data portability. You also may have the right to demand restriction of processing your personal data, to object to processing and to file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority. We are committed to respecting the data subject rights found in the EU's General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR.

Changes to this privacy policy

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on grid.is. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you that it has been updated so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances, if any, we share and/or disclose it. If GRID is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners in order for them to continue delivering the product.
